Simulations of lightning panels are crucial to product development and optimization across many industries, including automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics. Simulations allow engineers to predict and improve lighting system performance, ensuring optimal efficiency, and safety. We will explore how to create lightning panels in this blog post. The CAD file that was designed before is opened in Ansys Speos. This panel has eight LEDs, two indicator texts, and one arrow. This video shows the effect of back lighting on textures and arrow. As illustrated in figure 1, the design process begins with establishing optical properties, followed by geometry properties, source and sensor properties, and finally simulation. A material with LEDs, PMMA, and rough surfaces is used in this example. Panel and arrow faces with surface roughness are selected.
