SIwave is an effective tool for characterizing PCBs, high speed electronic packages, and IC packages. The software has tools to verify power integrity (PI), electromagnetic interference (EMI) and signal integrity (SI). Different structures on a PCB can be designed, debugged, and optimized using these tools. It is a one-stop shop for PCB RF designers. Users can build any setup in a few minutes using the interface.

SIwizard is a tool for implementing SI. By selecting the RF lines to analyze, assigning ports, assigning signals, and specifying the frequency band, SIwizard will perform the analysis. The SIwizard will then attach the ports to the model, solve for the S-parameters, construct a circuit in the Ansys AEDT circuit, populate the contents, add a transient solver and a quick solver (optional), solve, and display the results. The user can modify the circuit built by SIwizard, add additional components, and/or add Verify Eye solvers.

 

SIwizard has only one drawback, namely that it comes with four generic signal definitions:

 Enter the necessary numbers.

It is not convenient to do this. The numbers for all standards are not known to all users. Even if they know them and enter them, they cannot save them for future use.

In order to overcome this problem, Ozen Engineering has developed a library of ready-to-use standards. You may copy-paste the standards you wish to include in the .siw file from the list. Here are the steps to follow.

1- Open SIwave.

2- Import the ECAD file.

3- Save and close the file.

4- Use Notepad to open the .siw file.

5- Look for the "B_TRANSIENT_SOURCES" section.

6- Add the lines from the library below.

7- Open SIwave again, and open the SIwave file.

8- Launch SIwizard: Simulations>SIwizard.

9- Add the lines, and go Next.

10- In the source section, drop down the menu and select the right standard.
